A few years ago I worked with Annerley residents to install a new children’s playground at Jessica Andrews Place on the corner of Lewisham St and Ekibin Rd East.
That playground focused on play equipment for younger children. I have now secured funding for stage two of the upgrade, aimed at creating a new play space for older children up to 15 years.
Feedback to date includes a desire for:
- climbing and balancing equipment;
- equipment for small groups to encourage socialising; and
- fencing.
- As a result, the plan includes climbing cubes, a circular mobile balance beam, a swinging basket and whizzer. This section of the playground will also be fully fenced and connected to the existing children’s playground.
I welcome your ideas and suggestions about this new playground. I will have the plans on display for discussion at a community meeting on:
