Corinda | Meet Susan Currie

Dr Janet Irwin was the Director of Health Services at the University of Queensland from 1974 to 1988 and later, a Commissioner of the Criminal Justice Commission. She was ahead of her time in bringing issues such as medical cannabis to public attention, and stressing that sexual harassment was a workplace health and safety issue. She was a strong campaigner and regularly took part in rallies, even during the Bjelke-Petersen government era when they were banned.
