spinner
The works will also include the replacement of the existing drinking fountain with a combination of a tap, bubbler and dog bowl. The footpath has also been approved for resurfacing, which is great news.

September 2016
I have received great feedback from residents regarding the allocated $120,000 Clifton Hill Peace Park playground upgrade. Thank you to all who provided your comments – this has been a truly consultative project from the namechange through to the park upgrade.
I received overwhelming support for option three, which included a larger fort and less stand-alone equipment. You can find a copy of the design below.
Some changes were made to the design after consultation, which include:
- a baby seat included in the swing set, so it will include a basket, normal seat and baby seat
- the balance beam be swapped for a see-saw
- the spinner bowl be swapped for a spinner
Other suggestions received were:
- the fort be oriented to the shelter sheds
- a recycling bin to go into the park next to the existing general waste bin
- water runoff be diverted from the playground into the garden
- new trees planted
- extra seat between the playground and Eric Cres either to capture shade from sail or under the tree between the shelter and Eric Cres
Council is currently costing resurfacing of the footpath within the park and I know this is a priority from a safety point of view. I am hoping we can find a way to include the upgraded footpath this year. At this stage there are not enough funds in the current year for additional seating but we can make this and the adult exercise equipment part of a stage two upgrade in future years.
The upgrades should be completed by Christmas. Thank you again to all those who gave feedback.
July 2016
This year $120,000 has been allocated to upgrade the park and play equipment at Clifton Hill Peace Park, Annerley. The upgrade includes, by popular demand:
a double shade sail to cover the entire playground area;
a new BBQ near the shelter shed;
sensory play equipment;
swings; and
a climbing fort aimed at children aged between 2 and 8 years.
The playground options include a smaller fort and more stand alone equipment or a larger fort and less stand alone equipment. Depending on budget, elements of the equipment in both options are interchangeable. To view both options in more detail, please visit the links below.
