DESCRIPTION:Allow yourself to be transported back to the dance halls of wartime with Brisbane Excelsior Band as they pay tribute to the songs that comforted those separated from their loved ones through wars and then a global pandemic. In a salute to the music of wartime\, enjoy a twilight concert of hits from the homefront\, with music from the swing era of Glen Miller and Duke Ellington along with the big brass sounds of popular military marches and troupe favourites. \nThe café and bar will be open so enjoy your music with a glass of wine and a meal. \nThere is limited seating available\, it is recommended you bring a folding chair or picnic blanket. \nPlease note: there is no BYO food or drink permitted at this event\, not pet friendly.

DESCRIPTION:Sherwood Arboretum established in 1925 is Brisbane’s only botanic garden dedicated exclusively to growing Australian native trees. The Arboretum holds scientific and cultural values with the many of the original plantings undertaken by prominent citizens of Brisbane. The guided walk will be led by the Volunteer Guides of the Brisbane Botanic Gardens\, Mt Coot-tha and the Friends of Sherwood Arboretum. \nRequirements: Please wear closed in shoes and a hat\, bring a water bottle. \nLocation: Meet at the shelter adjacent to the main carpark off Jolimont Street\, Sherwood. \nBookings required via Eventbrite. For more information call 07 3403 2535.
