UPDATE NOVEMBER 2020
The Cross River Rail Authority recently announced changes to the environmental impact statement regarding the Cross River Rail project. There are adverse impacts for Annerley and Fairfield residents including:
- 24/7 hours of operation; and
- 100’s of truck movements per day via Annerley Rd/Cornwall St/Kent St.
I am concerned about the safety of school students and local residents around Dutton Park Station as well as noise impact from both truck movements and 24-hour-a-day site operation.
I objected to these arrangements. You can read my objection here.
I also raised this matter with the state members Mark Bailey and Jackie Trad with no reply. I will also be raising it with Amy MacMahon in coming weeks.
I’ve also attached a recent article in the Courier Mail that you can read here.
I want to thank those residents who spoke up against these project changes which could have dire consequences for Annerley and Fairfield residents.
To read more about the proposed changes view the EIS proposal on the Cross River Rail website.
The State Government has released its revised plan for the Cross River Rail project.
The plan proposes a 10.2km rail line between Dutton Park and Bowen Hills, travelling underneath the Brisbane River and CBD with new stations to be built at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street, Roma Street and Exhibition Showgrounds.
