A big thank you to all the Yeronga residents who provided their feedback for the Jacaranda Park and playground upgrade in Yeronga. Planning is now underway and funding has been allocated to start the project this year.
Based on the survey responses, the most popular suggestions were:
- a new all ages children’s playground;
- a nature play area;
- a new BBQ;
- new taps and bubblers;
- new shade sail;
- a learn to ride track; and
- more Jacaranda trees.
As the Park is a former tip site, just like many local parks in Brisbane, soil testing will be required so the learn to ride track will be delivered as part of stage two. I look forward to sharing some playground design concept plans for residents to review in coming weeks. I also hope to include Yeronga SS and St Sebastian’s students in the design process, so the children who use the park have a say in its design!
