Work is complete on the Vallely St Park Playground upgrade! Some delays to lighting installation have been caused due to the contaminated land issues in Lagonda St Park, but the lighting should be installed in the next few weeks.
The new playground is now open and includes the following:
-fort, swings, play equipment, including monkey bars;
-flying fox;
-shade sail; and
-seating.
Vallely St Park has also received new lighting and bins, while Lagonda St Park has received new turf, lighting upgrades, a new footpath and general maintenance. There is still some further maintenance work to do.
Other popular suggestions, but outside the Council budget, were for a new BBQ, bike track and picnic shelter. These can be considered in a future stage.
The budget was increased to $190,000 to undertake the works and roughly breaks down to $46,000 for new lighting in Vallely St Park and improved lighting in Lagonda St Park, $34,000 for earthworks / remediation and $120,000 for playground and park works.
