Students at Sherwood State School have been considering three options for a playground upgrade at the Sherwood Arboretum. The School’s Student Council undertook a democratic lunchtime voting process with a total 398 votes cast via paddle pop sticks. The winner, with 43% of the vote, was option three by Austek, pictured. Option two received 33% of the vote and option one 23%.

The two old forts will be removed and the replacement play equipment includes senior and junior play spaces with slides, climbing, balance and agility equipment and more. I am so pleased that children who will use the playground had a meaningful say in the design of the new play equipment. Construction will begin in the new year.
