This year Council budgeted $154,000 to deliver an intersection upgrade at the corner of Kingsley Pde and Kadumba St, Yeronga, known as a Local Access Network Improvement.
The project includes three new pedestrian refuges, one on each end of Kingsley Pde and one on Kadumba St, as well as additional road safety line markings to improve safety, accessibility and sightlines for pedestrians and road users. Some parking restrictions on the bend to improve sightlines will also be included. The upgrade will make it safer for pedestrians, including students, to cross the road, and Council’s traffic engineers advise that structures on the road encourage drivers to slow down. The intersection has been the site of several serious accidents and I am really pleased this project is being delivered this year.
The below plan will be circulated to nearby residents in the coming weeks for feedback.
